To align with current industry ICT standards MedicareAustralia is replacing the current Adaptors with Web Services, which will require a shift in the way transmissions are sent to the agency from the Client System software.

With the cessation of all PKI (SHA-1) certificates effective March 2022, MedicareAustralia has adopted the PRODA
organisational authentication model to send and receive Web Service requests/responses to and from the
agency.

Providers using the current Client Adaptors need to activate Medicare Online Claiming via PRODA (Provider Digital Access).

To do this follow these steps:

1. Register your organization in PRODA
2. Activate MedicareOnline with PRODA
3. Renew Device in PRODA

Before you can register an organization in PRODA, you must ensure that:

• You have registered an individual PRODA account
• You are an Associate or Authorized contact for the organization on the Australian Business Register (ABR)
• Your individual PRODA account name matches your name as recorded on the ABR.
